Please post as much useful information on this board as you can, such as who to contact (name/mobile/telelephone number etc.) If you want to show photos of the missing pony/item, just click on 'Additional Options' when you post. You will then be able to upload photos using the Attach option shown.

Great David - as much info about stolen ponies should help in their recovery, particularly a good photo - hope this section isnt used too much though - otherwise it means a lot of stolen ponies and heartbreak

Great idea David,

i hope it never has to be used but some how feel it will
Having touched on a slight study of Shetlands that have been stolen in the last 10 yrs the increase in numbers are staggering

Im still of the opinion that a more intelligent person than me should take all this on board and demand more cooperation from our police force and  more convictions for the people responsible

i sometimes wonder "if the people that be"
are aware of how major a crime horse theft has become

This is a crime close to all our hearts and anyone having to report ponies missing will get 110% support from all on this site

In America they used to hang horse rustlers!
In Britain it seems to be treated as a trivial offence.
Perhaps we should send Tony over to have a word with his mate!

Seriously though, this is a very good idea to publicise as much as poss. I agree Jem the police should do more to prosecute. They would if it was a panda car stolen.

Brilliant idea david, where do you get them?

They sometimes say the hotter you make stolen things sometimes people will dump them where they can be found as they become too hot to handle, so to speak.
lets hope we can help to stop shetlands being stolen more often then anything, unfortunatelly size isnt on their side.
I only noticed that more so this year when we had a mini foal we needed to put somewhere safe for 5 mins whilst we cleared the box, to make room for her and her mum, so lifted her into the back of the discovery, shows how easily it can be done

If anybody is unfortunate to get a pony stolen,
PLEASE remember to phone any auction places that have pony sales coming up and send a poster to them. Again if the thieves are there they know the pony is hot to handle and many people will look at the poster and be your eyes for you.
